Jabbar & Mubin were born into a traditional khatri family in kutch. After working in an urban set up for few years, they realised that their true calling lied in their ancestral work of hand block printing. Both has joined hands and started their own label ” jabbar & mubin ” and today with a team of artisans, they create beautiful ajrakh prints that are close to their heart and culture.

Ajrakh Sarees

Fine quality ajrakh block printed chanderi silk cotton saree, made using natural dyes through traditional ajrakh technique of hand block printing practised by the artisans in Kutch region of Gujarat. Chanderi is a traditional ethnic fabric characterized by its lightweight, sheer texture and fine luxurious feel.

Ajrakh is a traditional vegetable dyeing and resist block-printing technique on cloth. It is estimated to be around 4,500 years old. The Ajrakh artisans in India are originally from Sindh and they migrated to Kutch in Gujarat and Barmer in Rajasthan. Ajrakh is the traditional attire of the Maldhari pastoral community of Bhuj. The process of ‘Ajrakh’ is a long-drawn process with many stages and each layer of colour is printed after a gap of time so the cloth has to stay for the day.

Care : Gentle hand wash separately in cold water with mild/liquid detergents, excess natural colours may bleed when washed for the first time. Avoid soaking for too long.

Slight difference in color from the visible product image is possible.
